This is a great console to place underneath your wall mounted flat display TV. I was looking for one thing that might get the TV/DVD/Cable wires up off the ground and hidden. This console does this beautifully. However, be prepared to have some time on your fingers in an effort to mount this on the wall. My husband had the kit opened and was able to put it up, when he realized there were no mounting screws. The directions did state that they weren't included, however there have been no guidelines as to what sort to purchase, etc. So, after a visit to the native Lowe's, the correct mounting tools was purchased and he was ready to do the job. Every little thing went fairly properly, though it was a bit trickly getting the holes drilled behind the unit. It is up now and is really solid. Very attractive unit, just time-consuming and tough in some ways to place up. Also, we called the Prepac Helpline, asking if there was a kit with the mounting materials. All they may inform us was that there wasn't a equipment and so they referred us back to the seller for information. Anyway, they weren't much help.
This shelf was an incredible answer to a common problem. We have baseboard heaters, so a chunk of furnishings to hold our TV, cable field, and so forth wasn't an choice, because it could not be pushed up flush to the wall. My husband and I were finally able to come to an agreement when we discovered this shelf. It took some time to get to us, but once it did, we were quite happy with what we got. It assembled simply (comparable course of to IKEA furnishings), and appears very nice on the wall. It was easy to put in, and from earlier comments, we already knew that the mounting hardware was not included, and had been ready with our own screws. We each agree that for the worth, it is an excellent product.
I gave this product four stars as a result of, whereas I really just like the look of it and are happy with the acquisition, there have been 2 issues that bugged me:
- Your only possibility is black. Not a huge deal, but if brown is the color you are going for, you're out of luck.
- 2) While the mounting process itself is pretty straightforward (mounting the bar that the shelf hooks on to), getting the shelf up there with your entire cords staying in the best place is just a little tricky. It took us 3 tries to get it just right. Again, not a huge deal, but be ready for a possible 15-20 minutes of frustration.
